Prospects Sparkle at the Ridgefield Thrift Shop

Valerie takes a selfie, giving a thumbs up as dresses from the Ridgefield Thrift Shop are hung over the balcony at the Prospector Theater. Prospects are seen in the background waving to the camera.

Prospects sparkle-bombed the Ridgefield Thrift Shop today—their store’s sparkle supply chain is strong! We styled ourselves, with the help of talented and saintly RTS volunteers, as if we were going to the most important party in the galaxy. Because we are. Prospector Opening Night on May 27!

Ridgefield Thrift Shop gave us all those gowns for Prospects for free, and we are going to dance, party, watch movies, and sparkle on in them very soon!

Shopping and getting dressed have been like daily screenings of horror movies for some of us who have remained in our sweatpants outfits and onesies (guilty). That stops today. We have important work in the sparkle business to attend to, AND another national TV show is visiting next week (so exciting!) - so we need clothes that are easy, look good, fit, and make us feel like the stars we are!

Today Prospects said, “Forget about the sizes! Mix match everything, layer on the sparkle, and get ready to party along with the blockbuster movies of 2021.”

When we reopen we will be at the front door to greet you. You will see we work hard, AND we work hard wearing clothes that make us sparkle!

Be like Prospects. Dress to entertain yourself and others. Collect clothes that come with origin stories. Wearing 2nd hand saves the planet, saves you money, and gives you your own look!

Unsolicited advice: try on your clothes even if you are “sure they fit”. Even if they fit, your clothes may not feel right to you. For a lot of people It’s time to reenter the world (yay!) and you may want to upgrade your wardrobe game to reflect the new 2021 model of yourself! Have fun and send us pictures of you dressed up to go to the movies, like they did during the height of Hollywood glamour during the Golden Age of Moviegoing. Why the not?

So get Grandma off the couch and give her your prom gown and let’s go, the movies are coming back soon.

For good clothes to match the new you, go thrift shopping around the corner at RTS. They’ve got the goods. (So clean! So organized! So helpful! So generous!). And say hi to Jenny, she’s a prospect AND volunteers time at the thrift shop!

Let’s all get dressed up and sparkle on! See you at the movies!
