Our Reopening Mask Policy

Let the glorious news be spread, Prospector Theater has happy days ahead!

A graphic featuring Valerie and actor Zack Gottsagen. It reads “Fully vaxxed? No mask! Self-regulate, so everyone’s safe.”

Here is a guide to your safe and sparkly return to the glamour of moviegoing on Prospect Street.

Prospector Theater’s professional staff (Prospects) have cleaned and scrubbed our Theater, “until it shines like the top of the Chrysler Building!” We have a long-standing and well-earned reputation as being the cleanest movie theater in our galaxy and our Clean Team is locked and loaded with our disinfectants, Dysons, and determination.

We will meet you with smiles on our faces and a sparkle in our eyes. We’ve missed you moviegoers; we have been lonely without you. We’ve been dreaming of this day for a long time, to welcome you back, and we will forever cherish the feeling of togetherness. We have known the struggles of isolation and fear, many of us have been climbing these mountains, forging these streams, since the day we were born - until we found our dream jobs. Everyone has more empathy. Everyone has a story to tell. We understand. Now many of you do as well.

Your safety, your comfort, your entertainment, your escape from the day, we are here for you.

We ask you, our dear moviegoers, please help us protect ourselves and each other.

Prospects have the option of going mask-free, a privilege earned two weeks after being fully vaccinated. With 75% of our staff self-identifying with disabilities, we are among the most vulnerable members of our community - with underlying conditions and compromised immune systems. Many Prospects will opt to continue wearing masks.

We ask for your honor and commitment to respectfully wear a mask if you are not vaccinated. Masks can come off if you’re two weeks clear of your final shot. We will not ask for your proof of vaccination. We trust you to vax up or mask up.

Children under the age of 12 will be required to follow policies as detailed by national, state, and local health departments. Parents, you will be responsible for ensuring your children in this age group are masked as they move throughout the Theater.

Respectfully, if you do not agree with these policies, please don’t show up. The lives of our Prospects and moviegoers are too precious. Please don’t put yourselves or others at risk. Thank you for your compliance.

In addition to our clean standards, and our commitment to public health, we will continue to use other safety features, already in place: glass partitions, contactless payments, hand sanitizing stations, and more. Each theater is equipped with it’s own individual fresh air intake systems, delivering constant streams of clean air to your seats. We have voluntarily reduced the capacity of our theaters to 75% capacity. Our smallest screening room - Theater 4 - has been taken out of play to the public and is only available for private rentals. Reopening weekend programming is limited to two movies, giving us an additional theater for overflow.

There are many blockbusters coming to the Prospector Theater this summer and we’ve got a lot of in-Theater fun for you to enjoy together - the communal experience of moviegoing, the sparkle, the popcorn!

Thank you for respecting the Prospector Theater’s mask policy. Our policy is based on the best information from the smartest scientists and medical experts from around the world and is designed for Prospect and public safety. Please spread the news - tell your friends, family, and the public about the good steps The Prospector Theater is making to safely fulfill our mission of meaningful employment.

We are excited to usher in a new Golden Age of moviegoing at the Prospector Theater!
Sparkle on!
