It was a busy Tuesday at 454! In addition to the regular hustle and bustle going on at the Prospector Shop (a lot needs to be done in order to open a movie theater) we had a couple projects going on the side! The first PENNY PARTY was today. Volunteers joined with the regular worker bees to glue pennies on to specially prepared panels, which will become the ceiling of the theater's café.
We also planted green beans in honor of earth day- the beginning of the Prospector's vegetable garden!
Rachel, Diane, Bethany, and Ben helped us out gluing pennies onto panels! The first couple hundred of our 35,000 penny project has begun. To volunteer at the next "Penny Party", call (203) 403-3588
Welcome to the Prospector Team, Ben Daddona! Some of you may recognize Ben's name from our blog post about Pac-Man Versus- Ben took the photos.
Mr. Daddona will be helping us around the Prospector Shop, stop by any time Monday -Friday 10:00AM to 5:00PM and say hi! As the Prospector gets closer to opening, we will be able to hire more and more Prospects.
The Prospector Theater will be hosting a Job Fair with the Ridgefield Library. Mark your calender for May 13th and stay tuned for details!
We asked for you to guess, HOW MANY PENNIES would it take to cover the ceiling of our café, a roughly 500 square foot area. Guesses ranged from 15,000 to 7 million!
The amount of pennies we are using to cover the ceiling of our café is...
Thank you, everyone who participated! Like us on Facebook to stay current with future games and contests.
Keep an eye out for photos of the construction process. Our joyful volunteers will be gluing the pennies into panels, with holes drilled just a bit larger than the actual size of a penny. The panels will then be adhered to the ceiling. Interested in becoming a volunteer? Send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know how to get in touch with you!
