Prospector Founder and Executive Director, Valerie Jensen, answers great questions from students in Columbia University's Master of Social Work classroom.

Prospector Founder & Executive Director Valerie Jensen was recently invited to talk at the Columbia University School of Social Work. Professor and Ridgefielder Elizabeth Counselman Carpenter, PhD invited Valerie to her Master of Social Work classroom to discuss the life-changing work happening at the Prospector. Students in the class are currently investigating advance clinical practices for social work with children, and they were excited to discover how the Prospector’s mission and model align with their coursework. Valerie described the Prospector’s philosophy, methodology, and operations in depth, welcoming questions from students who will soon play an active role in improving the quality of life for people with disabilities. The Prospector has recently visited several university classrooms, with the goal of inspiring others to become the next generation of change-makers.
